YourSpins.com - Mix Up Your Music
Remixes can be loads of fun, and sometimes they even sound good; the most unthinkable mash-ups can become as clingy and catchy as an irritating uhrwurm, playing over and over in your head. If you’d like to try your hand at mixing, head on over to YourSpins.com, and give it a whirl. Although you may not be Mark Ronson, you can create your own special mixes and share them with the YourSpins community at large. YourSpins hosts a catalogue of music from which you can spin your masterpiece; artists include Moby, Faithless, Ciara, and Ginger House among others. Besides being able to create a cool new remix you can spin up a Spintone just for your cellular. It’s pretty easy to use so that any DJ wannabe will be able to churn something good out. Rate mixes, comment on them, and share your favs with the Spin community.
In their own words:
“YourSpins is a new kind of music community for fans who want to immerse themselves in world of remixes. Within YourSpins, you'll be able to share your mixes of top songs with others, rate and comment on other mixes - and chat, mail and IM other people too. Plus you can make your own unique ringtones to be sent to your phone. Each user gets their own homepage, with all their mixes and ringtones listed. Soon, we'll introduce blogs for each user, but for now, all mixes can be exported to your own blog by pressing 'Blog this mix' on the mixpage.”
Why it might be a killer:
YourSpins lets anyone with the slightest creative gene in their body mix it up and play DJ. Even if you’re not remotely musically inclined, Spin’s technology lets you pretend to be so. It’s fun and easy, plus you can meet some fellow spinners and chat up a storm about your favorite remixes.
Some questions:
Might the controls prove a little too limited for the more hardcore mixers? And what about the artist catalogue; obviously these are free and licensed, but the selection is rather daunting—who has even heard of 4Tune500?

YourSpins: Make Your Own Remix in a Matter of Minutes
YourSpins: Make Your Own Remix in a Matter of Minutes For the budding remixer who is raring to go, and wants to create a professional-sounding remix of a song by a famous artist in a matter of minutes, YourSpins is the way to go.
What it does: First, you select an artist (ColdPlay, Moby, etc.), then you select a track. After the intuitive homegrown remixing interface loads, you're ready to make your first remix -- just like that. This site requires zero knowledge of music creation, which can be a good thing. Anyone can use this one, and when you're done, you get to post your own customized remix on your blog or even use it as a ringtone. However, you can't upload your own audio tracks to the compositions, and the selection of remixable tracks is a bit limited.
Who it's for: Anyone who wants to create a decent-sounding remix of a famous song with no prior knowledge. Requirements: None.

YourSpins - Superb Remixing Site
That’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout! YourSpins is a music remixing service - mix your own version of your favorite track and instantly post it to your blog or MySpace page. There are also a bunch of social tools that let you share your mixes, browse by tag and see which members are currently online. It’s really well put together and a lot of fun. The blurb:

At the heart of YourSpins is a web-based remixing tool that lets you set levels, loop tracks and add new instruments (below). It’s simple, slick and intuitive. I’d love the ability to mix multiple tracks together, but even in its current incarnation it’s pretty good. The business model also makes a lot of sense: all the remixes are available to buy as ringtones. But I think they could take this one step further - how about putting a “buy as ringtone” button on the widget itself? That way you’re not just feeding the MySpace beast - you’re turning every widget into a self-contained ringtone store.
Alas, the site is in private testing right now - hall pass and secret handshake required! To give you a taste, I’ve included a widget in this post - if you’re reading it in a feedreader, you might need to visit the site itself (warning: may contain dance music).
